Founded in 1878 and located in Gainesville, Georgia, Brenau University is a private, non-profit university offering both undergraduate and graduate-level coursework. The university has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report numerous times as a one of American’s Best Colleges.
Degree Programs
Brenau University currently offers degree programs in four different schools of study: Business and Mass Communication, Education, Health Sciences, and Fine Arts and Humanities. In addition, the Sidney O. Smith Jr., Graduate School provides students with the opportunity to continue their studies beyond the undergraduate level.
In 2002, students have been given the option to take classes in a distance education format. Since then, the university’s online division has expanded to offer 100% online degree programs, including:

University Galleries
If given the opportunity to explore the university campus in Gainesville, Georgia, one should definitely make time to see the galleries on campus. With three separate exhibition spaces, students, faculty, alumni, national, international, regional, and local artists can present their pieces to the public.
89.1 WBCX Gainesville
Brenau University’s own radio station helps keep students and faculty informed of on-campus events, traffic congestion, and community events. As the only FM music station in Gainesville, 89.1 WBCX has been operating for 35 years on a 100% volunteer basis by Brenau students and Gainesville volunteers.
Child Development Center
On Brenau University’s campus a Child Development Center operates to offer children professional care via staff and students associated with the university. Students currently enrolled in teacher preparation, nursing, and occupational therapy programs have the opportunity to work closely with children and their families through the Child Development Center.
