Idaho is home to several colleges and universities that offer distance learning opportunities. It also has a few of these programs for grade-school students who hope to earn high school diplomas or GED’s via the Internet. The following programs are available in Idaho:
Idaho Distance Education Academy (I-DEA) is an accredited and tuition-free public charter school designed for students in kindergarten through grade 12. The academy’s programs are designed for parents to be involved in the education of their children by personalizing the instructional facilitation of material to them based on the specific needs and pace of how each child learns. There are also opportunities for high school juniors and seniors to receive college credit that can be transferred to an institution of higher education.
