Cameron University Distance Learning
Cameron University in Lawton offers distance learning classes using videoconferencing via a Polycom HD system.
Carl Albert State College
Carl Albert State College in Poteau and Sallisaw offers distance learning courses, and also coordinates with other Oklahoma state universities to ensure transfer of credits for graduation requirements.
East Central University
East Central University offers online courses via the Blackboard system, and also distance learning classes at other sites such as Ardmore, McAlester, and Shawnee.
Murray State Distance Learning
Murray State offers online courses and correspondence courses. Correspondence courses are done on the student’s schedule using a course schedule and textbooks, similar to independent study. Students ask questions along with completing the assignments, and graded assignments will be returned for students to study with for the final exam.
Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College
Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College offers Web classes and classes via interactive television.
Northeastern State University College of Extended Learning
Northeastern State’s extended learning program features online classes, blended classes, and classes in Broken Arrow, Muskogee, and Tahlequah for working adults. Classes can be taken in accelerated eight-week increments as well. Degrees offered are criminal justice, healthcare administration, human & family sciences, and organizational leadership.
Oklahoma State University
Oklahoma State University offers undergraduate and graduate courses online, including masters of agriculture or masters of science in agricultural education, an MBA, a master’s in electrical and computer engineering, a master’s in gerontology, a master’s in telecommunications management, and a master’s in nutrition.
Oklahoma Panhandle State University
Oklahoma Panhandle State University features accelerated online courses, including a mixed bachelor’s-master’s in nursing.
Rose State University Distance Learning
Rose State College in Midwest City has online courses and telecourses through area cable television systems and through the Oklahoma PBS station. Students can even take television courses offered through other colleges via the OneNet Telecommunications Network. High school students can sign up for courses to get college credit while in high school.
University of Oklahoma Online
University of Oklahoma offers online courses through several different formats. These include online scheduled courses, independent readings, and independent study. These can be taken at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Online College of Oklahoma
The Online College of Oklahoma offers over 3,400 online courses and 18 degree programs, and has been around since 1998.
Oklahoma residents who are unable to attend college due to other responsibilities or who simply want a slower-paced learning environment can take advantage of these programs to obtain a higher degree that will be useful in today’s job market.
