Utah is home to several major universities and colleges. Several of these have extensive distance learning programs to help virtually any student get the education they desire. Below are listed the major distance learning programs in Utah and some information concerning each program.
BYU has several programs and independent study courses available through distance learning. This includes a bachelors degree in general studies and numerous individual courses including accounting, business management, history, biology, nursing, and others.
BYU also offers a number of free courses online for distance learning students. BYU is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Tuition costs range anywhere from $132 to $232.
Weber State University is located in Ogden, UT. They offer 16 degrees and programs through their distance learning program. These include bachelors and associates degrees such as:

• Bachelor of integrated studies

• Medical laboratory technician

• General studies
The time frame for these classes is broken down into two categories. The first category is semester based courses. This means that classes will follow a regular semester schedule. USU’s distance learning program range from $262 to $333 per credit hour.

Stevens-Heneger specializes in distance learning and online learning opportunities for the working adult. Their program includes many bachelors and associates degrees in the healthcare, business, and information technology fields. Some of the bachelors degrees are:

The length of these courses can last anywhere from 15 to 36 months and are completed entirely online. Classes start on a more frequent basis than at a regular university and most degrees can be completed in less time.
Stevens-Heneger has an accreditation from the accrediting commission of career schools and colleges (ACCSC). Tuition costs vary.
Utah Valley University offers several associates degree options and a few bachelors degrees. Some of the associate degree programs are in science, aviation, and business management. A couple of notable bachelors degrees are in aviation and public emergency services management.
UVU also offers numerous individual courses from accounting and anthropology to aviation and public speaking. The costs of the individual courses are $52.00 per credit hour.
